Client requirements
The company I am creating a radio commercial for is Costa Coffee, which is a British multinational company. It’s the second largest coffeehouse
chain in the world behind Starbucks and the largest in the UK. I have recently been
hired by the marketing team and have been given my first task. The first task I
have to do is create a radio commercial advertising Costa Coffee, they have
given me no guidelines so it’s completely independent. The only requirement they
have given me is that is has to be no longer than 30 seconds in length and it
has to appeal to their target audience. The target audience is teenagers and
above female and male. I have also been given no budget so I will have to use
contacts that I have from my media course and background. The unique selling
point (USP) I have chosen to include their ‘cheap’ Easter special for a limited
time, I am going to specify flavours and prices so my target audience is aware
of this. I am also going to include one of their well known slogans because it is catchy to the audience.
